Indonesia, "The Next Big Thing" Pasar Teknologi Dunia?

KOMPAS.com - Perhatian dunia pada Indonesia, terutama di sektor teknologi dan dunia digital, muncul akibat jumlah penduduknya yang besar, pertumbuhan ekonomi yang relatif stabil serta adopsi teknologi yang cukup baik.

Salah satu yang kerap jadi contoh adalah besarnya pengguna jejaring sosial di Indonesia.  Pengguna Facebook, misalnya, Indonesia adalah nomor 4 dunia. Sedangkan Twitter negeri ini  disebut-sebut sebagai ketiga terbesar.

Benarkah Indonesia layak disebut sebagai "the next big thing" pasar teknologi dunia?

Salah satu indikatornya bisa dilihat dari ketertarikan pebisnis dari luar negeri untuk masuk ke Indonesia. Beberapa di antaranya bakal hadir di gelaran SparxUp 2012 sebagai pembicara utama (keynote speaker).

“Kami ingin membawa pembicara-pembicara terbaik dari International dan juga pembicara lokal untuk mengisi kesenjangan pengetahuan di antara mereka, kami percaya apabila kesenjangan pengetahuan ini telah diatasi, industri teknologi di Indonesia bisa lebih cepat untuk maju," kata Rama Mamuaya, Chairman SparxUp 2012.

Salah satu pembicara adalah Teruhide Sato, Group CEO of Netprice Japan. Menurut Sato, ada peluang bisnis besar di Indonesia di semua segmen bisnis internet, mulai dari marketplace, payment hingga games.

Menurutnya, peluang itu akan tetap besar dan mungkin bertambah lagi dalam lima tahun ke depan. "Dengan besarnya jumlah generasi muda, dan kelas menengah yang terus bertambah," tuturnya.

Materi yang akan dibawakan Sato di SparxUp 2012 adalah soal ekspansi pasar, secara spesifik di Indonesia.

Ada juga Joonas Hjelt, CEO Blaast -- sebuah perusahaan teknologi mobile yang berbasis di Finlandia. Hjelt, yang juga akan menjadi salah satu pembicara, mengatakan Indonesia adalah prioritas Blaast.

“Indonesia muncul sebagai salah satu negara superpower di Industry Mobile, kombinasi dari 240 juta populasi penduduknya yang muda dan sangat antusias terhadap teknologi dan infrastruktur yang terus berkembang menempatkan indonesia sebagai negara Mobile pertama yang sangat menarik," ujarnya.

Turut hadir pula di SparxUp 2012 adlah Matt Barrie, pemilik situs Freelancer.com. Barrie akan berbagi pengalamannya sebagai pria di balik situs dengan lebih dari 2,5 juta proyek freelance di dunia tersebut.

Nah, selain para pembicara internasional itu, tentunya ada pembicara dari Indonesia yang akan menampilkan pengetahuan yang tak kalah menariknya seputar pasar lokal. Termasuk di antaranya adalah Reza Prabowo (wirausahawan digital) dan Ivan Hudyana (Blibli.com)
