JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Research in Motion (RIM) selaku produsen BlackBerry akan fokus menggarap pasar Indonesia. Pasalnya, penjualan produk terutama ponsel pintar atau smartphone BlackBerry di Indonesia merupakan penjualan terbesar di dunia.

Director Marketing RIM Indonesia Eka Anwar menjelaskan, penjualan ponsel BlackBerry di Tanah Air selama ini diterima dengan baik, bahkan melebihi penjualan di negara lain.

"Pasar Indonesia sangat menjanjikan dengan pangsa pasar yang masih besar. Bahkan, di pasar smartphone Indonesia, BlackBerry masih menjadi nomor satu," kata Eka selepas peluncuran PlayBook OS 2.0 di The Apartment Jakarta, Selasa (21/2/2012).

Berdasarkan data dari Gfk, pangsa pasar ponsel BlackBerry di Indonesia masih sekitar 51 persen hingga Desember 2011. Mulai tahun ini, pihak RIM menargetkan pangsa pasar RIM di Indonesia akan ditingkatkan menjadi 60-70 persen.

Namun, Eka enggan menjelaskan kapan kira-kira pangsa pasar 60-70 persen dapat tercapai. Untuk mencapai target itu, pihak RIM Indonesia akan menjalankan strategi khusus dalam penetrasi pasar ponsel di Tanah Air.

"Kita mulai dengan perekrutan karyawan hingga perluasan jaringan distribusi," tambahnya.

Untuk merekrut karyawan, pihak RIM akan mengambil tenaga pemasaran yang lebih banyak. Pasalnya, tenaga ini menjadi ujung tombak di setiap jaringan distribusi yang akan dilakukan di seluruh Indonesia.

Di sisi lain, RIM Indonesia akan melakukan kampanye pemasaran yang lebih mengutamakan "rasa" Indonesia. Selama ini, pemasaran RIM terhadap produk BlackBerry terkesan tidak Indonesia sekali, padahal pangsa pasar terbanyaknya ada di Indonesia.

Selain itu, pihak RIM akan membuka satu gerai outlet lifestyle BlackBerry terbesar di Asia Tenggara dalam pekan ini. Outlet tersebut akan melengkapi dua gerai BlackBerry yang telah dibangun di Kelapa Gading dan ITC Roxy Mas, Jakarta.

Tidak hanya itu, RIM juga akan memperluas jaringan distribusi dengan membuka jaringan toko ritel di seluruh Indonesia. Tahun ini, pihaknya akan membuka gerai di lima kota besar di Indonesia, yaitu Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, dan Yogyakarta.

"Kami juga akan menyasar kota kedua di semester I-2012 ini. Terkait jumlah gerainya, itu masih rahasia," ungkapnya.

Oliver Pilgerstorfer, Head of Public Relations East Asia RIM Singapore, menyatakan bahwa RIM berkomitmen untuk menciptakan lapangan kerja baru dengan adanya kantor RIM di Indonesia. Jumlahnya sekitar 6.000 tenaga kerja.

"Itu terdiri dari karyawan internal, gerai, distributor, hingga pengembang aplikasi, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung," ungkapnya.
