Indonesia Targetkan Angka Kemiskinan Jadi 8 Persen pada Tahun 2014

Denpasar - Pemerintah Indonesia terus berupaya menekan angka kemiskinan. Tahun 2014, pemerintah menargetkan angka kemiskinan turun, dari 11 persen menjadi 8 persen.

Target itu disampaikan Menteri Sosial Salim Segaf Al Jufri usai penandatangan Mou dengan Menteri Sosial Perempuan dan Penanggulangan Kemiskinan Republik Fiji, Jiko Luveni di sela-sela Konferensi Bali Democracy Forum (BDF), di Hotel Novotel, Nusa Dua, Kamis (8/11/2012).

Disebutkan, saat ini angka kemiskinan Indonesia mencapai 11 persen dari jumlah penduduk sebanyak 240 juta jiwa. "Pemerintah menargetkan angka kemiskinan di level 8 persen (tahun 2014)," ujar Salim Segaf Al Jufri.

Untuk mencapai target tersebut, Salim menyatakan, pihak telah melakukan beragam program sosial untuk mengentaskan kemiskinan, yaitu program keluarga harapan, Bantuan Langsung Tunai (BLT) bersyarat.

Kemensos juga melakukan program pendidikan bagi keluarga miskin. Program pengentasan kemiskinan tersebut menyasar ke 1.516.000 masyarakat miskin. Masing-masing orang mendapatkan bantuan Rp 1,4 juta setahun.

"Syarat bantuan ini mengharuskan orangtua memberikan pendidikan kepada anaknya. Kita harapakan dengan pendidikan orang tuanya yang miskin tak diwariskan kepada sang anak. Program ini dilakukan secara bertahap," ujarnya.

Sementara itu, di sela-sela konferensi Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) ke-5 tahun 2012, Kementerian Sosial Indonesia bekerja sama dengan Menteri Sosial Perempuan dan Penanggulangan Kemiskinan Republik Fiji, Jiko Luveni.

Indonesia menyampaikan pengalamannya dalam mengentaskan kemiskinan kepada masyarakat Fiji. Misalnya soal penciptaan pekerjaan kepada masyarakat miskin.

Fiji adalah negara kecil yang berpenduduk 850 ribu jiwa. Namun angka kemiskinannya sangat tinggi mencapai 32 persen.

"Mereka membutuhkan pengalaman kita, seperti penggunaan dan pengelolaan rumput laut. Mereka juga berkunjung ke Bali melihat kerajinan masyarakat," katanya.
